Paul Malone : Tanker triptych 00 3x23 lists

Tanker : 00-3x23-list-4120 (Reddest-Nearest-Brightest)
Acrylic tube, print on acetate, Bachman fixtures, nickel-silver ladder and walkway
Tanker wagons 3x 23cms length. 82 x 12 x 6 cms in museum case.

This is an example of a 3 wagon triptych and is developed around the idea of stellar nomenclature.

There are 3 wagons in this ensemble with graphics presenting the reddest, nearest and brightest stars in the sky. The stars are represented by dotted crosses or differing sizes with the name of the star next to it.

This series of artworks function as a model of the night sky in the form of engineered artifacts. As such, they emulate the way that theories and concepts are constructed about remote objects, events in cosmology and associated meta-narratives.
