A four layer perspex sandwich with positive curved outline. Layer 3 is made from green transparent perspex and painted with an array of evaporation rings containing silver powder.
Layer 2 has an array of lead solder splashes in the arrangement of a familiar asterisk. The green hue of the piece hints at the onset of Spring, as the constellation appears high in the Southern sky.
This unit recalls the retinal impact of photons of light during an astronomical observation. The whole is experienced again as a machined artifact.
