In the film a disquieting dimension manifests itself in a becalmed landscape.
This web page is a sequence, from the original location stills of the film, in a gradation from light to dark.

The Earth as landscape during the total eclipse on August 11th 1999 at Midday:
an overview of the Moon's shadow. The work is an ambivalent paradox, cast onto the Earth, between landscape and Space.

Like all things on the internet these days, this project has been a voyage of discovery and a Himalayan learning curve. My thanks to all who have taken part, often at short notice, and to the ‘Deptford X’ Festival for hosting this initiative. The artists cover a range of experience and innovation, from those who are conversant with the medium, to artists who have experience in other fields and have been willing to launch into the often intimidating realms of cyberspace.
Our greatest thanks of course go to those of you who are visitors to the site and are willing to extend your time, patience, aesthetic sensibilities and phone bills to what we have to offer here. We have tried to keep download times to a minimum and cater for as many user systems as practicable. We do appreciate your patience if sometimes the pages take a while to display themselves.
Why ‘Agogical Interventions’? Administering the A2 site has been a very practical occupation; pasting up members work and handling the exchanges and correspondence that arrives on a day to day basis. In all this time I have been struck by the optimism and sense of wonder at being able to communicate with others of a creative disposition often on the other side of the planet. It is a time of great change and opportunity, a period when a sense of playful adventure and enquiry do not go amiss.
Best wishes, Paul Malone

Canada'Wonders of the World'
(3 pages)"This web design is an extreme condensation of what I have been
thinking of and working on the last few months -- the restoration of
old images and hermetic symbolism and voyages of discovery.
The first image
is the frontispiece of Sears Book of Wonders, circa 1848, which I
have restored. The second image is a whimsy with an animation
of an image taken from the aforementioned frontispiece -- depicting
Columbus discovering the New World.
The music on the site are examples of the Ars Subtilior school
from 14th century Europe, a form of experimental syncopated
music centuries ahead of its time."
