| This series of short movies seeks to emulate Palaeolithic rock carvings (petroglyphs) using shadows from an intense Sun on rock structures by the sea shore. I perform various interactions using the topography of the rocks and describe their shape using movement and gestures. These are then processed using filters in the editing.
The works are informed by the researches of Antony Peratt and Marinus van der Sluijs into connections between 'squatter man' petroglyphs and super-auroras around the time of the last Ice Age. Along with these speculations are the associated myths that continue in metaphor from pre-history to the present day. |
