These wagons are a triptych assembly of the 23cms tankers containing content and interpretations along a single conceptual theme. Essentially to do with observations and theories associated with phenomena of the night sky, the concepts are assembled to produce 'trains of thought'. Though they are capable of being run around a layout this version is usually confined to the museum box. In essence they are literally 'models' of these theories and illustrate associated morphologies, mechanics and spatial distributions.

By being assembled in this triple format it is possible to present different theories together, a single theory framed by examples or different phenomena of the same concept. This series of artwork functions as a commentary on the methodology of contemporary scientific model-making. In this proposal we can see the inadequacies of the process, one that is often amplified by the use of supercomputers. In these works, that potential for error is overcome by the use of a phenomenological model railway environment and associated mechanics.
